Baby Mara
RSSS

I took my children to a local fair and they had a petting zoo.  I met some great people who share a love for animals and one little guy caught my attention.  It was a baby mara.

Mara’s are related to Guinea pigs and are the 4th largest rodent in the world.  Baby mara’s are born looking just like a mini full grown adult.  Hair and all.  They have very long legs and are mainly from South America.  Another really neat fact is they are monogamous.  They mate for life.

Above are a pair of full grown mara’s.  Copyright Dysprosia
